"I will take away Connections! Energy! Inspiration! Readiness to Make a Difference!" --Leadership Retreat Participant, October 2010
"I learned to be confident and put myself in situations I'm not used to. If I don't, I might miss out on some GREAT opportunities!"
--Leadership Camp Participant, June 2012
Does your company, team, or group need a retreat? Would you enjoy
spending some time to look at goal setting and leadership dynamics?
One of Mountain Roots' longest standing programs is a week long
leadership camp for teenagers in western North Carolina. Contact us to
plan your leadership program or team building retreat today. The possibilities
are endless--a hike on a nearby trail with substantial journaling, a retreat at
Laughing Waters Retreat Center, or an adventure of your choosing. We'll help
you to assess your group's needs and plan the ultimate program!
Are you interested in incorporating more outdoor time in your school's curriculum?
We can help! Mountain Roots has developed extensive outdoor education activities
that can be offered on a regular basis or as a one time field trip. Local charter school,
Brevard Academy, is currently enjoying the benefit of two days of outdoor education
every single week. Students are immersed into both environmental education and our
TLC (Teams, Leadership, Character) classes throughout their daily routine. Contact
us today to learn how this can be an offering for your students.
Our Roots Adventures program combines our passions of kids, families, and time in the natural world. Join us for a weekend adventure to focus on Farms (farm tour and food production), Forests (learn introductory navigation skills with your family), Fun (water play and exploration--seasonal), Friends (serving Friends), and Forever (create action steps toward a more environmentally friendly way of life). Let us take you and your family on the adventure of a lifetime--exploring local trails, creeks, and mountains while learning more about yourself, the earth, and your community! Many of our Roots Adventures programs are grant funded and free for participants. Most recently grants from the United Way of Transylvania County and the Henderson Community Foundation have assisted in providing funding for our Roots Adventures!
"There is absolutely nothing like sitting under a waterfall or on top of a waterfall or on top of a mountain and looking out on all of the other mountains that surround you. Go, dive in head first, I promise you will not regret going!" --Roots Adventures participant, August 2013
