Throughout the year, we will be hiring for various positions, including the following. If you are interested in learning more about Employment, Internships, or Volunteering with Mountain Roots, please contact our Executive Director, Ali Lien at

Outdoor Education Instructors

Our instructors teach and develop regular Outdoor Education classes in schools during Spring and Fall 2019 on a part-time basis, and will play a full-time leadership role in the program development and implementation of Mountain Roots Day Camp during Summer 2019. Retreat Facilitators

Occasionally Mountain Roots needs additional facilitators beyond our Outdoor Education staff for leadership and community retreats. We hire experienced facilitators and instructors that experience a full day (or more) of staff training for the specific program. Retreats are geared to each group's individual needs / requests. All retreat facilitators have experience working with a range of populations in the outdoor setting. To learn more about joining our facilitation team, click here.

Summer Program Interns (Fall & Spring Internships also available)

These interns will lead groups of children ages 4-10 during our Day Camp program in June-August 2019. Interns will lead and develop Day Camp activities, and will hone their group facilitation skills in an outdoor setting with the mentorship of experienced educators. For a full description and details on how to apply, click here.

Summer Core Group Leaders

Core Group Leaders are a key component to our summer leadership team. Core Group Leaders take the primary leadership role with each of our Core Groups (the Maples, Oaks, and Dogwoods). Working closely with campers ages 4-10, Core Group Leaders implement our themed programs for Mountain Roots Day Camp. This is a great opportunity to hone facilitation skills, while getting to know and be inspired by some really cool kids! For a full description and detail on how to apply, click here.

Summer Camp Counselors

Mountain Roots Camp Counselors get to spend each new day playing with and helping out our campers. Each counselor will be assigned to a specific Core Group for the week (or summer) while you explore along side some great kids and a wonderful staff.
