What to Expect: This full-day camp incorporates experiential educational adventures and classic camp fun! Mountain Roots Day Camp intertwines outdoor play, nature, and community service with the arts. Enthusiastic and knowledgeable counselors support campers and help them connect with Western North Carolina's community and natural spaces. Your camper can expect to be physically active all day, and be challenged with new themes each week.

What to Bring: Every day, your child will need a water bottle, snack, lunch, and sturdy camp shoes (we recommend sneakers / tennis shoes). Beyond that, please apply sunscreen each morning and send a rain jacket if it looks like rain. Mountain Roots provides all program supplies (with the exception of tie dye).

*A note to parents of 10 year-olds: We recommend that you contact us before registering your child to make sure that Mountain Roots Day Camp is a good fit for your child. In a nutshell, Mountain Roots Day Camp is a playful, learning environment with lots of hands-on activities and movement. Some rising 5th graders embrace the playful nature, while youth who prefer a more mature environment may prefer a different setting.
